[SixthSt] Marian Call this Saturday; Sean Altman in December
Here are five reasons you should come out and see the wonderfully unique Alaskan singer-songwriter MARIAN CALL at our house this Saturday night. (It's always tough to convince people to come out and hear good music, but you wouldn't be on this list if you didn't have (a) excellent taste; (b) a love of independent music; and (c) a sense of adventure, drama and intrigue.)
1) Marian has been known to play the typewriter from time to time. And rather well too.
2) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBKqA3dsoyc
3) Unforgettable original songs about love, life, Jane Austen, spaceships, the apocalypse, dragons, and sharks. Sharks!
4) Not just Tom Leher covers, but Tom Lehrer covers re-imagined:

5) Marian raised over $60,000 on Kickstarter to tour Europe, was personally recommended to us by Paul and Storm, does especially well with the nerds and good listeners, is swinging by our house as part of her nationwide Portland to Portland tour AND is supported by the magnificent guitarist Scott Barkan. Phew!
Please come out, support a fiercely independent artist or two, and most importantly enjoy a great evening of musical delights.

Oh, I almost forgot - the legendary SEAN ALTMAN, of Rockapella and Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? fame returns to SixthSt on Sunday December 28th, performing a set of his power-pop gems and then a seasonally appropriate JEWMONGOUS set. More info at our website!
Spread the word - invite family - tell friends - bring strangers!
Thank you, and I hope we get to see you soon.
