[SixthSt] Tish Hinojosa, Amy Rigby, Wreckless Eric, more... http://ezezine.com
Greetings!
Here are the latest happenings in our li'l old house concert series.
The Valentine's Day Stacey Earle and Mark Stuart show was wonderful. A
huge thank you to those who came out and, for those who couldn't make
it, you missed a rare treat.
Our Tenth Anniversary year continues with some more fine, fine
concerts. Right now it looks like we won't be booking any shows for the
fall, so this may be your chance for a while to stock up on some
essential house concert goodness:
TISH HINOJOSA
May 20th, 8pm
Suggested donation: $15+
If Joan Baez or Tracy Chapman were influenced by the Mexican-American
music of Texas, they might sound something like Tish Hinojosa. Tish is
a true Americana treasure so we are delighted that she agreed to play
at our house. We're even more thrilled with the response we've received
so far. Please join us for an evening of fine, fine music.
"we love this record" - BBC Radio 2
"Hinojosa's is a strong, poetic, sensual and conscious voice" - Spin
Magazine

WRECKLESS ERIC & AMY RIGBY
June 6th, 8pm
Suggested donation: $15+
I hope The Independent was wrong when it called Amy Rigby "The greatest
songwriter you've never heard of," only because I hope you *have* heard
of her. And maybe you even saw the Will Ferrell movie, Stranger Than
Fiction, where Wreckless Eric's "(I'd Go the) Whole Wide World"
features in the pivotal scene. Because then this concert would be an
easy sell to you. Even so, I couldn't do a better job than this:

Please come and see why Word Magazine said that Wreckless Eric & Amy
Rigby were "...very possibly one of the best gigs I've been to in
recent years."
