Lonnie Bissonnette, 48, from Ontario, Canada, is an adventurous man and the father of two. He remains passionate about skydiving even though he was severely injured in 2004, when he jumped 490 feet from a bridge in Idaho. His foot caught in his parachute, and he broke his spine in the fall. He is now wheelchair-bound with no use of his legs or left arm. Click here to read more about Lonnie Bissonnette.
The miracle of it all is that since then, he has made 1500 additional jumps in his wheelchair. He never considered quitting the extreme sport, he only worked to find a way to make it happen in his wheelchair, because he says, "it's my passion." He claims he only needs his right arm to pull the chord!!! Imagine.
This is high adventure with extreme passion, and Lonnie has great courage with little fear. He obviously derives much pleasure from his sport. What an inspiration. I have jumped from an airplane at 10,000 ft and know the rush of adrenaline, yet I have only done it once, and not from a wheelchair!
There is nothing you cannot do when you have the passion to accomplish it.
Lonnie's spirit is certainly his passion for adventure.
