The Value of Health
2013 started off for me at the dentist office with a "wrap–around" x-ray of my mouth; this lead to 4 root canals. I labeled this the "Year of the Tooth"! Then, in February, I twisted my knee, which led to 6 weeks of physical therapy and consistent morning exercises. My 20-minute a day walking routine was discontinued and I took up Pilates, yoga, water walking and biking. Eating an apple one Sunday, I chipped my front tooth, so it was back to the dentist! A few weeks ago, I tripped in my house and fell against a door frame, cutting my cheek and bruising my face. Fortunately, I did not knock out any teeth or break my jaw!!
I was feeling like I had gone off course somehow. The summer months afforded me the opportunity to do water exercises and to take the time and attention to do knee exercises, keep my teeth in good shape and massage my bruised face. My ultimate goal was optimal health, so I followed the doctor and dentist’s orders. I am 100% responsible for my healthy habits, and by keeping that understanding firmly in mind, I am now back on track.
The value of good health cannot be over-estimated when we seek to create a good life for ourselves.
