Summer Myths
Myth: Lazy Days of summer…
Myth: It is too hot to work out…
Myth: Put off until tomorrow…
Get up and get going this summer – we are at the halfway point of the year! Set your intentions and begin to change your life today!
For me, summer 2013 is about my coaching business: upgrading it, organizing it, and retraining for it by attending coaching conferences to continue my education in the field. I use the "remote," (as in remote control device for the television), too often during the school year when my calendar is full, so summer is my time to "get up" and change what I am able to change.
The coaches at the conferences I attended in June encouraged me to follow my passions, to be curious, to get out of my comfort zone, to live my dreams, to be proactive, and to play the bigger game. A good rule of thumb, they suggested, is to spend 90 minutes a day concentrating on what needs to change in your life and to keep track of time spent working on those changes. Notice when resistance sets in, and try to work out why that resistance happens and what you do about it. Journaling your intentions every morning starts the day out right.
Summer is always a good time to make a difference. Here are some key areas to consider working on: eating habits— click here to calculate your BMI; exercise routines—I found a routine from Chris Powell that anybody can work into the day; business proposals; and home/office organization. I recommend that you actively use the remaining months of summer to put down the remote, erase those summertime myths, get up, and change your life!
Coaching Questions:
