February 5, 2012Live HealthyOk! It’s February. Those resolutions are a month old. Are they working for you? Are you working on them? This idea of exercise versus illness is not a new idea according to Mr. Smith-Stanley. Bill Weir, 44, an ABC News Anchorman went to California to interview Dr. David Agus, author of the noteworthy book, "The End of Illness," for a TV assignment. Dr. Agus asked Bill to undergo a full body CT scan before the interview. The scan revealed a serious life threatening heart problem for Bill. A very startled Weir, defended his healthy patterns with statements of hard, daily workouts that, in his opinion, balanced his "eat everything I want" lifestyle. Dr. Agus did not recommend any specific foods or routines; he suggested that Bill "eat real food, live healthy, and follow a regular schedule." Now, Bill walks 5 minutes every hour, eats more salad and fruit and is thankful to be aware of his health. "The End of Illness," promotes the theory of "know yourself." Be conscious of your body and any changes you observe. Notice your nails, hair, eyes, and ankles everyday. Each of these things and more can influence your health and may be hidden indicators of illness. Find time for exercise. Everything in moderation is a good mantra as you renew your resolutions.
