December 5, 2011CongruencyIn mathematics, congruence refers to things of the same size and shape. In life, it refers to the relationship between your actual self and your ideal self. In order to have your goals and actions be congruent, you need to let go of what you do not want and move toward what you do want. Think about it. You attract what is in your thoughts: "I can" or "I can’t." I have excused myself from regular everyday exercise for a long time – too cold or too hot to walk outside, too far to drive to the gym, not enough time to get it done. My thoughts and actions were congruent because - I did not do it. Two and a half months ago, I made a commitment to be the change I wanted to see. You don’t until you do! Since then I have walked or exercised at least 20 minutes a day. I have rearranged my schedule, gotten up extremely early to fit it in, walked in the cold and gone to the gym before or after work. Picture congruent circles, with YOU in the middle, your thoughts on the second circle and your actions on the third. Are your thoughts and actions congruent with YOU? Are you being the change you want to see in the world? Do you want to accomplish a goal, study something new or maybe say yes or say no to an organization’s request? Clarity comes with examining what it is you really, really want. You deserve the best. Erase your doubt, be conscious, and step forward. Coaching Question:
