John and I hope that you all are having a wonderful summer and some great vacations! We've just returned from Seattle, WA, the home of two of our little grandchildren, and that was a delightful break. Two and a half, and she already exclaims, "It's a masterpiece!" Another glass artist in the making.
We're happy to announce the following workshop schedule for the fall months...FINALLY...we can get back to work. I won't lie...the move was brutal, but we are so happy to be in Fayetteville. It is one of the loveliest, quaintest, little towns left in Texas, and we are so happy to be here.
I want to thank all the "Groupies" for filling over half the seats in the classes already. We love it when we hear, "I don't care what you are doing, just sign me up!" However, it leaves only about half the seats available by the time we send out a newsletter. I did add one additional class because of that and the fact that now we can only accommodate a maximum of 5 students at a time.
September 18 - 22, 5 days
Fee: $765.00 for everything except food.
We love to combine cut, dimensional pieces into our mosaics because...after all...we are fusers! So this wonderful, large panel will incorporate so many aspects of what we teach. How to create dimension; how to decorate with stringer and shade with frits; how to grout a glass mosaic; how to use transparent and opals, and much more. This piece will not have koi as the picture here, but I'm really considering birds or a floral...either will be beautiful! One space left, and of course, it can be reserved with a deposit of half the class fee.
Oct. 23 - 27, 5 days
Fee: $950 for everything except food.
Birds, Birds, Birds....
Glorious birds! My favorite! This is an exceptionally large panel for a workshop that we are limiting to 7 students. All of our workshops are different, but this one will have a twist that you haven't seen before. Yes, it is very simple, elegant and Asian, but it has a twist that you will love that includes lots of birds....not just one! It will be a challenge, but for those of you that like that, this workshop is for you. Again, the seats are half taken so please, if you are interested, call.
Nov. 6 - 10, 5 days
Fee: $950 for everything except food
Landscapes are everyone's favorite, but they also require the most experience! For those interested in this workshop there is a prerequisite of glass experience and some drawing and/or painting experience. Please call for more information. This large panel will require all of the techniques that we use to create a piece of glass that looks like a painting! Most of our large panels are approx. 14 x 20 or larger, so come prepared to be challenged and work hard! As of now, we have only 2 spaces left.
Each person is registered upon receipt of the deposit which is half of the workshop fee. That deposit is non-refundable, but may be used toward another future workshop in cases of an emergency.
For more information and lodging please give us a call at 936-436-2250 or email us at dancinglightfusedglass@yahoo.com anytime. We do look forward to seeing each one of you, and as always look forward to sharing our love of glass with you all.
Blessings!
