I Made it to Cameron
Lake in May! I'm amazed. I've been dreaming of getting back to Cameron Lake for two years. In May I made it up for a long week and I'll be back again the last week of June and the first week of July. I hope I'll see you up there too. We do have a few openings so give me a call. May was a little chilly and also a little bit of warm on a couple of days. One day I was wearing all my clothes, hats and gloves, the next day I was in a tee shirt. One day I was dreading the freezing boat ride and the next day I was looking forward to a breezy ride to cool me off. We had to close for opening week. Ice off was late and while we did lose the ice in time for opener, we were not at all sure what we would find when we finally made it to camp. For those of you that know Cameron Lake, you'll be surprised to see the ice-chewed trees on the little island on the south end of the big island. Give me a call and we'll get you on the schedule. See you on Cameron Lake soon. Here are a few photos from May 2014. Enjoy the inspiration.
Please send
me your 2013 and 2014 photos. deb@cameronlakefishinglodges.com

New At
Cameron Lake Fishing Lodges We've got a few new refrigerators at camp! You'll also see some new toilets. And a few more picnic tables. And the Island Cabin has a new outhouse. The dock is up and ready for you. And we've got another BBQ grill just waiting for you. You will also find drinking water dispensers in each cabin. Sorry I didn't take photos of any of these. Someone slap me up side the head. I was just so thrilled to be back on Cameron Lake I forgot all about taking photos for this newsletter. Thanks to all of you at camp in May who sent me the photos I'm using for this newsletter. Like this beautiful photo of camp in May, 2014. Thanks Ron for this one. |

Getting To Cameron Lake The Algoma Central Railway (ACR) Passenger Service is running again this year! We want to thank all of you who wrote letters and signed petitions. The ACR has one year now to find more sustainable funding. We are eager to see the train back as a reliable source of transportation to the North. If you choose to drive to Oba via Hearst Ontario, we have space for you at our boat launch on the river. You may prefer an overnight stay in the town of Hearst. On the Hearst website, click on Visitors and then Accommodations. Our Cameron Lake Fishing Lodges signs are now posted along the Caithness and Oba roads, along with signage in Oba directing you to our boat launch. I'm happy to send you directions. Thanks again Ron for this great photo of our dock, May 2014 |
