Happy New Year
Fishing Friends! We had a bit of a heat wave last week here in Northern Michigan. One day I saw 34 degrees and I swear I smelled Spring in the air. Yeah, yeah, I know. It's too soon and we were just experiencing our typical January thaw. This week was a little different. Lots more snow and I once again got the roof shoveled. But I am inspired. I'm inspired to clean out the tackle box. I'm inspired to tune up my fishing reels. I'm inspired to check the waders and boot for rips and tears and patch where needed. I'm inspired to order some new lures. I'm inspired as you all call and email me with your plans for our 2014 season. Thanks for the fishing memories of last year and the fishing plans for this year. Here are a couple of photos from May, 2013. Enjoy the inspiration.
Please send
me your 2013 photos. deb@cameronlakefishinglodges.com

Getting To Cameron Lake Our arrival day is Saturday and departure is on Friday to accommodate the Algoma Central Railway Schedule. Most of our customers take the Algoma Central Passenger Train (ACR) from Hawk Junction. The train leaves Hawk at 3:20 on Saturday. There is no need to make reservations before your trip. You can buy your tickets when you arrive at the station in Hawk Junction. And be sure to arrive early enough to enjoy a burger at the Big Bear Bar and Grill right across from the train station. You can also catch the Algoma Central Passenger Train or the Agawa Canyon Tour Train in Sault Ste Marie. Call 1-800-242-9287. Arrangements can be made for you to take the Agawa Tour Train, explore the beautiful Agawa Canyon, and then pick up the passenger train north for the rest of your trip. You can learn more about the Agawa Canyon Tour Train here. If you prefer to drive to Oba via Hearst Ontario, you are welcome to leave your vehicle at our boat launch on the river. We ask that you make prior arrangements with us. This may require an overnight stay in the town of Hearst. On the Hearst website, click on Visitors and then Accommodations. |
