Our June 2012 Newsletter Cameron Lake Fishing Lodges, Inc.
|
Hello Fishing
Friends! Welcome to June, my friends. Cameron Lake Fishing Lodges opened on Saturday, May 19 and we have had some outstanding fishing since. Also, a little heat and a little snow. All typical May weather. Strong south winds and heat one day and the next day the winds shifts out of the north and we're firing up the cabin heaters. Last month I had two delightful weeks on Cameron Lake. I ate fish just about every day and got into a couple of our outer lakes, along with some river fishing. Searching far and wide did not produce the elusive morel mushroom this year. But we did get a nice batch of fiddleheads. And wildlife was abundant. Too many moose to count, as well as bear. Hare galore! Saw one wolf and two lynx, four otter, loads of eagles, and of course the fish are plentiful. The hummingbirds are back. And one of the cow moose has had twins. They were pretty small the last time I saw them, probably only a few days old. We would love to host your group this year. Just give me (Deb) a call at 231-879-4178 or zip me an email at deb@cameronlakefishinglodges.com and I'll get you on our schedule and on your way to some of the most outstanding fishing in Northern Ontario! We still have room for
you during our 2012 fishing season!
The Fish are calling! If you are a Facebook member and you want to join our Facebook group, just go to Cameron Lake Fishing Lodges on Facebook and click on the link in the upper-right-hand corner of our page. We are happy to add you to the group.
Jeff and Nancy joined us
for the last week of May. Focused and talented, they got
the job done while Tiny held down the fort.

Our arrival day is Saturday and departure is on Friday to accommodate the Algoma Central Railway Schedule. If you are driving to Oba, please call me to make arrangements for pickup to get you down the river. Most of our customers take the Algoma Central Passenger Train (ACR) from Hawk Junction. The train leaves Hawk at 3:20 on Saturday. There is no need to make reservations before your trip. You can buy your tickets at the office in Hawk Junction. And be sure to arrive early enough to enjoy a burger at the Big Bear Bar and Grill right across from the train station. If you would like to start your adventure a little earlier, you can catch the Algoma Central Passenger Train or the Agawa Canyon Tour Train in Sault Ste Marie. Call 1-800-242-9287. Arrangements can be made for you to take the Agawa Tour Train, spend time in the canyon, and then have the passenger train pick you up and take you north for the rest of your trip. You'll have time to explore the dramatically-beautiful Agawa Canyon before the ACR picks you up to continue north. You can learn more about the Agawa Canyon Tour Train here. If you fished with us in 2011, please send me your photos, to deb@cameronlakefishinglodges.com And.... Give me a call at 231-879-4178 any old time you want to talk fishing! |
