Our October 2011 Newsletter Cameron
Lake Fishing Lodges, Inc. |
Hello Fishing
Friends! It's October already! How did that happen? The sun has been generous to us lately and temperatures have definitely been warmer than we usually experience this time of year. It makes me want to run to camp and get in one last week of fishing. But, alas, we are closed for the season so I'll have to be content with my plans for next year. Canada just celebrated Thanksgiving. Here in the States, it is yet to come. As I think about all I am thankful for, one of the greatest gifts in my life is the opportunity to work and play at Cameron Lake Fishing Lodges. I am sincerely thankful for my up-north friends as well as meeting so many of you who join us at camp for a week now and then. And, of course, I am thankful for the opportunity I have to spend so much time pursuing my favorite hobby on Cameron Lake. Fall hunting season has started everywhere. My friends up north are hunting the moose. Down here in Michigan, the deer season has begun. I'm flushing a few birds along the creek. And the fall mushroom crop is generous this year. There is just nothing like fresh food, whether it's gathered, garden, fish or game. Enjoy your Fall, wherever you may be and whatever you are doing. Gratitude is in the air. Oh, and Happy Halloween. Mr Pumpkin Head fishes Cameron Lake, by Deb Martin Our Mid-Week Fish Fry is such a hit that we need to name it in the same way a community might name a public event or a festival. Please send me your suggestions. What would you call the event we are now simply calling The Mid-Week Fish Fry? Surly we can find a more creative name for that experience. If we use your name, there will be a gift waiting for you at camp. We need a couple of great adjectives: The Cameron Lake __________ __________ Fish Fry. We've got quite a few fish fry name suggestions on our Facebook Group Page. If you are a Facebook member and want to join us, just click on the link in the upper-right-hand corner of our page and we'll add you to the group. Then submit your suggestion for the Fish Fry name. If you are not on Facebook, feel free to email me directly and I'll add your suggestion to the growing list.
