With Many Thanks
Back in January, I let you know that my practice had become quite busy and that it had become difficult to find the time to write a regular monthly column. Not wanting to abandon it altogether, I figured the next best thing would be to open it up to guest writers. So I asked friends and colleagues if they would be willing to contribute a column and much to my delight, everyone agreed.
Now that we are at the end of the year, I would like to take this opportunity to formally thank all of my guest writers who so generously took time out of their busy schedules to share their knowledge and expertise with us.
Three of my contributors share an office with me. Samuel Waldner, addictions therapist and creativity specialist has been in private practice for nearly thirty years and has literally helped thousands of individuals and their families recover from addictions that were ruining their lives. Joanne Pilon, an expert in trauma and chronic pain management, has been providing support and healing for over ten years to those who have been injured on the job or in accidents for numerous agencies throughout the city as well as in her own private practice. Isabel Shessel, psycho-educational consultant and past Chair of the Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario has been conducting expert assessments to determine learning exceptionalities, attention problems and psychological difficulties for the past 35 years. You can find our more about Sam http://samuelwaldner.com, Joanne at http://joannepilon.com/ and Isabel at http://crossroadsservices.ca
Three of my contributors are psychologists as well as prolific writers of important books. Evelyn Sommers has written two books, including, ‘The Tyranny of Niceness: Unmasking the Need for Approval” and “Voices from Within: Women Who Have Broken the Law.” Anna Baranowsky, CEO of Traumatology Institute has authored “What is PTSD? 3 Steps to Healing Trauma” as well as “Trauma Practice: Tools for Stabilization and Recovery.” Sara Dimerman, Director of the Parent Education Resource Centre, has written, “Am I a Normal Parent? Expert Advice, Parenting Tips and the Reassurance You’ve Been Looking For” “Character is Key: How to Unlock the Best in Our Children and Ourselves” and “How Can I be Your Lover when I’m Too Busy Being Your Mother?: The Answer to Becoming Partners Again.” You can learn more about Evelyn at http://www.ekslibris.ca/ Anna at http://psychink.com and Sara at http://www.helpmesara.com/
Two of my writers provide relevant academic and career advice to their clients. Educational Consultant Judy Libman has educated and counseled students for more than 30 years. She specializes in working with students applying to Canadian and American universities and in particular to graduate and professional programs. Sharon Graham is the Executive Director of Career Professionals of Canada and a Career and Resume Strategist, and is the author of the Best Canadian Resumes and Best Canadian Cover Letters series. You can reach Judy at http://ambitions.ca/ and Sharon at http://sharongraham.ca/
Linda Novick wears three hats as teacher, Rubenfield Synergist and Massage Therapist, and as such has been educating others on the mind-body connection and providing health and healing through touch for more than thirty years. You can reach Linda at http://ca.linkedin.com/pub/linda-novick/14/708/1a4
Susan Singer was the author in July. She is not a psychotherapist, but an old friend and a frequent commentator on this Ezine. She willingly volunteered when the call was made to write a column and related her ‘aha’ experience of realizing that we have choices about how we react to things.
Thank you to all of my contributors. Your efforts are much appreciated. And many thanks to all my loyal subscribers. I hope you all have a happy and healthy holiday and a wonderful new year.
