The near-legendary
MARTI JONES and DON DIXON
Suggested donation: $20-30 or more (all of which goes to Don and Marti)
Don Dixon is considered to be one of the key producers of what is called the jangle pop movement of the early 1980s. He spent thirteen years as a member of NC cult heroes Arrogance and co-produced R.E.M.’s landmark debut LP Murmur. His his writing, production and session credits also include Hootie & The Blowfish, Counting Crows, The Smithereens, Joe Cocker, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Marshall Crenshaw, James McMurtry, Ronnie Spector and Matthew Sweet—to name just a few.
Marti is a singer and painter whose sound encompasses jangle pop, ballads, and even southern-style soul material, thanks to a voice and singing style that reminded some observers of Dusty Springfield, Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt or Annie Lennox —to name just a few.

The long-awaited return of our first ever performer
JENNIFER KIMBALL
Suggested donation: $20-25 or more (all of which goes to Jennifer)
Jennifer was our very first house concert – even before we moved to SixthSt – and also played one our first SixthSt shows. Since she’s the main reason we started doing all of this, you can tell this is a show you should make a special effort to attend.
Jennifer started out as one-half of The Story – with Jonatha Brooke. She really came into her own with her solo debut – Veering from the Wave – which is still one of the albums we play often. Since then, Jennifer has performed and released more great music: as a solo artist, as part of the duo Maybe Baby with Ry Cavanaugh; and as part of the collectives Wayfaring Strangers and Session Americana.

Secret Show.
(We have always wanted to host a secret show here at SixthSt - get someone truly exceptional that would otherwise be an instant sell-out. Well, Jen and Dave have beaten us to the idea. We know who it is (hint: he, she or they have played at SixthSt before) and we'll be there!)
