John and I have made a huge move ....literally....and as we are just coming up for air, it is the first chance we have had to send out a newsletter to everyone. Although we loved Huntsville and our dear friends there, we decided to move closer to opportunities in and around the Round Top/LaGrange area. We have been blessed with a house that is almost 100 years old, and most of the windows are original to the house.....and they are gorgeous! Of course it would be the glass that attracted us to this house! :) It is located in Fayetteville just 11 miles from Round Top, a tiny town that lays claim to 100,000 visitors twice a year for the wonderful antique fair. Every spring the people arrive at about the time the bluebonnets and many other wildflowers fill the pastures making this one of the most gorgeous places on the planet. The Bridge to Nowhere was created from a picture we took just outside of Round Top several years ago. The huge, sculpted oaks make the landscapes here just irresistible for any artist.
But the best part of it all is that we are going to open a gallery in our home three times a year! The Antique Fair occurs during late March and early April and again in late September and early October each year, and we will be open three days a week during that period. Later in the fall, Lickskillet fires up a very popular weekend here in Fayetteville that brings people from all over the area for parades, chili cook offs, country bands, German bands, and dancing for the whole family.
Our first day to open will be March 22 from 2-6. Thereafter, we will be open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 11 to 7 until April 4. Open days for the fall Antique Fair and Lickskillet will be announced later.
As for future workshops, it looks as if it will be late summer or early fall before we will have the studio set up. A newsletter will be sent out by June that will lay out the schedule. Thank you for being so patient.
The gallery address is 109 E. Market St., Fayetteville, Texas, and because it is also our home, it is important to call for appointments if you need to come outside our normal business hours. We want to insure that we will be available to show you around.
Hoping to see you all soon!
