Greetings to All of Our Glass Friends!
Well, the holidays are over, and we are wishing that each of you has a prosperous and wonderful year in 2011. Last year was difficult because John had triple by-pass surgery, but he is totally mended, and all is well. The business, on the other hand, is just doing great! The joy we have is in pushing forward....every piece gets more difficult and larger, but that is what is really exciting about fused glass... there are still new frontiers that others have not discovered. Please take a look at our newer pieces that have just been added to the website gallery.
www.dancinglightfusedglass.com Most of these pieces may also be seen at The Gallery at Round Top, in Round Top, TX.
In 2010, we were thrilled to see our pieces purchased by Crow Holdings, Dallas, and hung in the new business complex that once was the old Parkland Hospital. We are currently working on another large mural for that complex, and have also sold several pieces to the Harlan Crow family for their homes in Texas and Colorado. They have been lovely people to work with, and we appreciate their patronage.
As 2010 closed, the galleries that were representing us were: The Texas Visual Arts Association Gallery, in Dallas; The Gallery at Round Top, in Round Top; and Hanson Galleries, in Houston. They have been tremendously helpful, and we value our relationships with each of them.
Bob Paterson, at Hot Glass Houston, has hosted numerous classes for us this past year, and we have already planned another weekend workshop in April. Bob not only has a wonderful facility in Tomball, but he is a great guy, and we really enjoy our trips to teach there.
This past year, we had students from Texas, Florida, California, Louisiana, Minnesota, and inquiries from many more states and even from as far away as South Africa! ...and this was just our third year. What we hear repetitively is that they haven't seen anything like our work... and they love it. Thank you so much for the encouragement that has been. We've also had wonderful comments on the quality of our classes, and that is more important than anything else to us. Our goal has been to give the most and best information, the most glass, the most for your money, and all of that coupled with the most fun too! We teach what we do, and that is quite unique from other studios.
Thank you for making our third year so wonderful. There really isn't anything else that we would rather be doing...
We'd like to invite all of you to the Gallery at Round Top for the Kimono Show in Feb. with the Reception on Feb. 5th. from 4PM-8PM. More information at
