Greetings and Glass Tidings to All Our Friends,
This will be our newsletter for the fall and holidays so we want to wish you all the best of good times with family and friends for the holiday season that is coming...soon! John and I are busy preparing for our Nov. show in the Texas Visual Arts Gallery located in the Plaza of the Americas in Dallas. We are pleased to be sharing the gallery for the month of Nov. 7 to Dec. 7 with Raku and Clay Artist, Bobbie McCrae. Her website is www.northshorepottery.com, and I encourage you all to take a look at her wonderful work. If you are in the Dallas area, please come by and see our newest pieces.
In September, our large landscape class was held with students from Florida, Michigan, California, and Texas! We were thrilled to how students from all parts of the US, and it was a great time. Each student successfully finished a lovely and difficult 16" x 22" scene of mountains, lake, and aspens.....and all of them were vistually novices in glass! Good job, Ladies!
Our new class schedule for the spring will be as follows:
These are the only classes that we will be teaching January through May.
Flowers & Birds
Jan. 21-24, 10 am - 4:30 pm each day
$700.00
Limited to 4 students!
If you don't like to start small, this is a class you'll love. We will make a lovely, Asian influenced panel, approx. 13" x 23," that includes dimension flowers and birds. In the course of making the piece, we will discuss cutting, schedules, kilns, how to use stringer, frit, cut glass, and maybe even a torch! We'll talk about design and composition, color, and what some of the problems are when you are working with glass. It is a challenging class for beginner or advanced students, but that's what we do here. We truly do want each student to feel that they have received more than enough information and glass for the cost of tuituion.
